What I like about the Expedition base plate, the Roadmaster version, is that it's gonna take the place of your tow loops on the front. Just to show you what it looks like when our tow bar is not hooked up to it. You'll just simply disconnect your tow bar, pull this spring loaded pin, twist it, and slide this bar out. And this is all that's gonna be left on your front of your vehicle. You're gonna have these handy tabs to be able to attach your safety cables to, and it's gonna come with a bracket to mount your 6-pole that you'll need for your diode wiring. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster Base Plate on a 2019 Ford Fiesta. Now this is what your base plate is gonna look like when it's installed and they've done a pretty good job of keeping this in the lower grill so you're not having to drill out the fascia. You're gonna have to trim some of this, but it does fit nicely here. So we have our spot for our removable arms, our safety chain moves come out just enough without being too intrusive. And we also have a mounting point for our six pole diode wiring. Now the breakaway switch for our braking system, I did have to self tap, but I'm tapping that into the base plate. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2016 Ford F-150- Video

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Blue Ox base plate for a 2016 Ford F-150. Now this is what your base plate is gonna look like when it's installed, and overall this is a really clean system because it just replaces where those factory tow hooks were, and when not towing, you can simply pull your arms out and this is gonna give it an even cleaner look. Now this is what it's gonna look like when you're not flat towing, and even though you lose your factory tow hooks, it really doesn't matter that much because you can still use your safety chain loops here, from the base plate, as your tow hooks. And, overall, it sits pretty nice in just that pocket where those tow hooks we're so, as far as the fascia, the only trimming that you may or may not have to do is mounting up the rest of your components. It does come with a bracket to mount up your 6-pole. You may or may not have air brakes, as you can see, we have our air fitting here. more

This baseplate system is going be a required component of flat towing a vehicle, and this is where your arms of your tow bar actually connect onto using some pins. Now, this does take away your factory tow hooks, but you do have these safety chain loops that could probably be used as well. Now, when not in use, you can also pull this pin, give it a twist, and you can see where it actually hooks onto. So this fork has this little hole here, and that's what you slide your pin through to attach to your arms. more

Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Blue Ox base plate kit here on a 2021 Ford Escape. So here's what our base plate kit looks like when we're hooked up to our tow bar and we're ready to tow. Now, the great thing about this kit here is it has removable arms that attach to the tow bar. And why this is really important is it essentially makes for a hidden install when you're not towing. So to show you that, we'll simply unhook the safety cables here. more
